Our usual course is five days. If your symptoms are not improving, contact us for a review. The prescriber may recommend a further five days of treatment if appropriate.

Symptoms often improve within three to four days, although they can last longer. See a GP if they have not improved within a week, or seek advice sooner if you become more unwell.

The prescriber may contact you for more information before deciding. If treatment is unsuitable, they’ll advise you on the next steps. If your order is declined after clinical review, you’ll receive a full refund.

Tonsillitis itself is not contagious, but the viruses or bacteria causing it can spread. Avoid close contact with others while you have a fever or feel unwell, and wash your hands regularly.
