Consultation
This online service is for adults aged 18 or over. Please speak to a pharmacist or GP for advice.
Tamiflu works best when started within 48 hours of your symptoms beginning.
Preventive treatment needs to start within 48 hours of your last close contact with someone who has flu.
Your symptoms need urgent medical assessment, which we cannot provide online. If you have severe difficulty breathing, chest pain, or are confused or very drowsy, call 999 or go to A&E now. Otherwise, please call NHS 111 or your GP now. Please do not wait for a delivery.
Your symptoms are not typical of flu, so Tamiflu is unlikely to help. A pharmacist can advise on easing your symptoms. If you are worried or getting worse, contact your GP or NHS 111.
Tamiflu is licensed to start within 48 hours of symptoms. Starting it later is outside the licence but can still help people at higher risk from flu. Our prescriber will check it is suitable for you.
Preventive treatment needs to start within 48 hours of your last close contact, so we cannot supply it online. If you are at higher risk from flu, please speak to your GP or NHS 111 for advice. If you develop flu symptoms, you can complete this consultation again for treatment.
With recent cancer treatment or a transplant, flu needs to be assessed by your specialist team, who may recommend a different treatment. Please contact your specialist team, GP or NHS 111 today.
With kidney failure, dialysis or a kidney transplant, flu treatment needs to be planned with your kidney team. Please contact your kidney team, GP or NHS 111 today.
We cannot work out a safe dose online at this weight. Please speak to your GP or NHS 111.
As you have had an allergic reaction to Tamiflu or its ingredients, we cannot supply it. Please speak to your GP or NHS 111 for advice.
My answers are true and complete. If I am ordering for someone else, they are aged 18 or over, have agreed to this consultation, and my answers are about them. I agree to identity checks and to MyChemistPlus.co.uk checking the patient's NHS Summary Care Record where available, and I accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
A prescriber will decide whether treatment is right for the patient and may contact me or the patient by SMS, email or phone if more information is needed. If treatment is supplied, the patient will read the Patient Information Leaflet before starting, follow the instructions on the label, and seek urgent medical attention if their symptoms are not improving or they feel more unwell.
