Clinician-reviewed service

Think you may have a throat infection?

An assessment helps the clinician determine whether treatment or further medical advice is appropriate.

PRODUCT UPDATE

Tyrozets lozenges are no longer available in the UK

If you think your sore throat may be caused by tonsillitis or another throat infection, complete our confidential assessment. A qualified UK clinician will review your symptoms and, where appropriate, treatment may include antibiotics.

Your clinician will confirm the most appropriate treatment after reviewing your assessment.

About the change

Why can’t I buy Tyrozets?

Tyrozets lozenges have been discontinued and are no longer supplied in the UK. MyChemistPlus does not currently stock an alternative sore-throat lozenge.

If you are concerned that your symptoms could be caused by tonsillitis or another throat infection, you can complete an online assessment for clinical review.

Antibiotics are not always needed

Many sore throats are caused by viral infections and improve without antibiotics. Completing the assessment allows a clinician to consider your symptoms, medical history, allergies and current medicines.

The clinician may offer treatment, ask for more information, decline treatment or advise you to seek urgent or face-to-face care.

02 · CLINICAL REVIEW

A clinician reviews your answers

A qualified UK clinician considers whether treatment is appropriate or whether you need another type of care.

03 · THE RIGHT NEXT STEP

Receive an appropriate outcome

If treatment is suitable, it may include antibiotics when clinically appropriate. Otherwise, the clinician will explain the recommended next step.
