Do you understand that you must stop Varenicline and seek urgent medical help if you develop mood or behaviour changes, suicidal thoughts, seizures, chest pain, breathing problems, severe rash, or swelling?
Are you aware that discontinuing varenicline (Champix) may be associated with irritability, stronger urges to smoke, depression and/or insomnia in up to 3% of patients?
Do you understand that Varenicline is started 1–2 weeks before your quit date, beginning with a starter pack and continuing if suitable?
Are you motivated to stop smoking and willing to use support (e.g. family, friends, or stop-smoking advice/services) alongside this medicine?
