Norethisterone should be started 2 days before your period is due and you can continue to take it for up 20 days. You would usually get your period back within 2-3 days of stopping Norethisterone.

Norethisterone is very safe for most women but should not be used regularly. If you need to occasionally delay your period, then this a safe an effective way but unfortunately it is not safe for all women to take.
